Lawn Fawnatics: Challenge #12 Create a Scene!

This is my entry for the Lawn Fawnatics: Challenge #12 Create a Scene! I love Lawn Fawn and Newton's Nook Designs so much that I decided I needed to do a collaboration of my favorite stamp companies.  I used the Lawn Fawn set Out of this World and the Newton's Nook Designs set Cosmic Newton.  I love using the Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up die for the outer space scene, it just really brings the card to life even more. The galaxy background was created using watercolors.  I colored up Newton with my Spectrum Noirs to look like my Logan, I also used my Sepctrum Noirs to color the planets.  I felt the planets needed a little shine which is hard to see but I used my Spectrum Noir sparkle glitter clear overlay pen.  I hope this card inspires you to combine your favorite company to make your next card.  I hope you enjoy!

Newton's Nook Designs: Inky Paws Challenge #54 Theme Challenge - Use Polka Dots

This is my entry for the Newton's Nook Designs: Inky Paws Challenge #54 Theme Challenge, use polka dots. I love this little cowboy Newton and knew I needed to try and use polka dots that wouldn't take away from his rugged appearance and attitude so I decided the best option was the sky.  I added polka dots to my card by using a polka dot stencil and Distress Ink, I added some velum clouds to tone down the sky as well as the sun.  The desert away was created using Distress Oxide Inks.  I colored up Newton wit my Spectrum Noirs to look like my Logan.  I hope you enjoy!

I hope you enjoy this card it was made using the Newton's Nook Designs stamp Newton Rides West!

Neat and Tangled: Little Tangles Challenge #83: Birthday

I'm excited to be playing along in the Little Tangles birthday challenge, I've had this adorable Yo Ho Ho stamp set for awhile from Neat and Tangled.  My boyfriend of the last 10 years loves pirates and this set is so adorable, I knew I needed to use it to make him a birthday card which is only a few days after this challenge closes.  The birthday aspects of this card in my opinion is the treasure chest which is holding the presents and the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.  I'm not a huge fan of using sentiments on the front of cards but if you notice very carefully "Happy Birthday" is stamped in the water to ensure the focal point of the card is the adorable pirates and their kitty.  The most adorable thing in this set is the kitty and this kitty is colored to look like our Storm who happens to share the same birthday as my boyfriend.  The sand is created using sand paper, the ocean was created using color bursts and the images were colored using my Spectrum Noir markers.  I hope you enjoy this card and are inspire to use the Yo Ho Ho stamp set.

Lawn Fawnatics: Challenge #8 Summertime Fun!

I'm so excited to share my card for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge #8 Summertime Fun.  I love Lawn Fawn so much that I would say fifty percent of my stamps are Lawn Fawn and seventy-five percent of my dies are Lawn Fawn.  I created this card using Mermaid for You! The sand was traced out using Stitched Hillside Borders but I cut the sand with scissors since its sand paper so I wanted to protect my dies.  The color for the images was done using my Spectrum Noirs.  I water colored the ocean and cut it out using the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables.  I finished the card with the Scalloped Rectangle Stackables.  Below is a close up of my favorite part of the card.  I hope this card has inspired you to use your Lawn Fawn products to make your next card.

Newton's Nook Designs: Inky Paws Challenge #49 Sketch Challenge

It's been awhile since I've played in the Inky Paws Challenges, I've created cards using the themes but haven't posted in awhile.  So I was excited to complete the challenge, even though this week as been a little difficult since I've been sick as my boyfriends says it couldn't have been at a better time since I already had a week off and was having a staycation but I hate being sick on my time off.  I did get sick after seeing Cars 3 since there was a sick child in the theater who was the only other family in the theater and I was sick before but oh well I guess since now I'm dealing with the summer head cold, hopefully its over soon.

I hope you enjoy this card it was made using the Newton's Nook Designs stamp Newton Loves Cake!

Newton's Nook Designs: Inky Paws Challenge #45 Use a Doily

This is my entry for the Newton's Nook Designs: Inky Paws Challenge #45 Use a Doily.  I'm not really a doily person but I knew the perfect Newton set to use would be A Cozy Day In.  My inspiration for this card is my Aunt since she loves books and animals.  I colored the image using my Spectrum Noirs.  I looked through my stash of patterned card-stock to find paper that looked like a painted wall, window frame and wood flooring.  I added color to the doily rug and curtains using Distress Ink.  The sky blue shining through the window is also Distress Ink and the window wouldn't be complete without glass so I added some plastic packaging. I hope you enjoy and are inspired to look at doilies in a new way.

Jess Crafts Digitals: Cowboy Cat

With Father's Day fast approaching, I'm working on a card I plan to give to my Step-Father-In-Law.  First I sized the images to my desire dimensions.  Next I printed the digital out using my printer, then I used my Brother Scan n Cut to cut out the cowboy kitty.  My Spectrum Noirs were used to add color to the digital image.  I grabbed some pattern paper and finished the card off by adding a barb wire fence and the "Howdy" die from Gina Marie Designs.

Lawn Fawnatics: Challenge #1 Happy Birthday

I'm so excited to share my card for the very first Lawn Fawnatics challenge, I've been a fan of theirs since I started card-making which was probably about four years ago.  I love Lawn Fawn so much that I would say fifty percent of my stamps are Lawn Fawn and seventy-five percent of my dies are Lawn Fawn.  I created this card using a older set called Life is Good (both the stamps and lawn cuts), the sentiment of "Relax" was created using an alphabet set called Violet's ABCs and the last part of the sentiment "It's Your Birthday" came from a new set called Jump for Joy.  Next I cut out the ocean waves using the Ocean Wave Borders and the sand was traced out using Stitched Hillside Borders but I cut the sand with scissors since its sand paper so I wanted to protect my dies.  The color for the images was done using my Spectrum Noirs.  I finished the card using the Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables.  I hope this card has inspired you to use a combination of your Lawn Fawn products to make your next card.

Newton's Nook Designs: Coffe Swap

For the New Year I decided to step outside my comfort zone and join a coffee swap card exchange.  I'm not really a coffee drinker (except for holiday flavors) but I have this adorable Newton's Nook Designs stamp: Newton Loves Coffee.  The funny thing about this swap is the first person I got was my sister and she absolutely loves rainbows, so how could I not color the "Meow" and cups rainbow colors.  I color the Newton to look like my Logan which I do believe is her favorite of my babies, since he's easy going and will let you pick him up just about anyway as long as you are giving him attention. I used my Spectrum Noir markers to add color to the adorable die cut "Meow" and the stamps.  I chose patterned paper that I add in my paper bin. I hope you enjoyed this design. Happy Crafting!

Gerda Steiner Designs: Critter Swap 2017

For my first critter swap for 2017 I used this free Gerda Steiner Designs image.  First I printed the digital out using my normal printer, then I used my Brother Scan n Cut to cut out the image.  The Brother Scan n Cut didn't cut all the small inside details of the image so I used my hobby knife to give it a clean finish. My Spectrum Noirs were used to add color to the digital image.  "Have a Mice" was created using cole's ABCs lawn cuts by Lawn Fawn .  I finished it off by finding the paper background in my paper bin and cutting it using large stitched rectangle stackables by Lawn Fawn. I hope you enjoyed this card.  Happy Crafting!

Jess Crafts Digitals: Valentine Elephants

Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone is having a happy and healthy New Year.  This is my first blog post for my very first design team, Jess Crafts Digitals; you can find out more about Jess Craft Digitals by clicking here.

In the craft world we are already working on Valentine cards. My first Valentine's day card for 2017 is a shaker card, it also happens to be my first shaker card.  To cut out the elephants and the background I used my Brother's Scan and Cut machine.  I colored the elephants using my Spectrum Noir markers, the male elephant is a few shades darker than the female. I used 3M foam tape to make the layers for the shaker card and acetate sheets for the shaker window.

You can purchase the Valentine Elephants for Jess Crafts Digitals by clicking here, they were first released this past Friday on January 6, 2017.
